Configuration Change Control
Controlled Documents
The following documents define the high level requirements and specifications for the
SDSS. All changes must be approved by the SDSS Change Control Board. Requests
or suggestions for changes must be made following the SDSS change control process defined
above.
This document defines the requirements for image quality, photometric and astrometric calibrations, target selection, spectroscopy, and operations. Contained in the document is also a summary list of specifications of the telescope and instrument that affect the science requirements. This document is maintained by Michael Strauss.
This document defines the performance requirements for the telescope mechanical systems. This includes the motion control system, interlocks. Placeholders are included for requirements on optics and instruments, including the fiber systems. There is also a section on telescope and enclosure parameters relevant to telescope performance issues. This document is maintained by Bill Boroski.
This document defines the requirements for performance and deliverables from the software. Top-level science requirements are also here but for the most part are superseded by the Science Requirements document above. This document is maintained by Steve Kent.
This document defines the flow of data through survey operations, from the point of acquiring data from the sky to the point where data is made available to the SDSS Collaboration and the astronomy community. This document is maintained by Bill Boroski.
